Amazing antique Fula silver ring, from Mali.
The Fula people (or Fulani or Fulɓe, also call Peul in French) are one of the largest and a widely dispersed Muslim ethnic group in Sahel and West Africa.
They are pastoral people, and their significant proportion making them the ethnic group with the largest nomadic pastoral community in the world.
The metal of this beautiful Fula ring, comes from ancient coins of the French colonists of 19ch.
During the French colonization in West africa, the French currency had no value, so the settlers used it as material exchanges.
The French coins were silver, and local artisans used it as material for the elaboration of jewels.
